 Harbin Lumber Co., Inc., was established in 1917. Our commitment is to the professional building contractors and all others who use our products. Our primary markets include Middle Georgia, Northeast Georgia, Southeast Georgia, upstate South Carolina, the Western mountains of North Carolina, and the coastal areas of South Carolina and Georgia. We have three building supply yards (Lavonia, Milledgeville, and Athens), three truss plant facilities (Load Star) located in Lavonia, Midway (Savannah) and Evergreen (Florence S.C.), a door and window manufacturing facility, a wall panel manufacturing facility, and our Installed Sales Center located in Royston, GA. Some of our unique installed sales services include installation of vinyl siding, cabinets, insulation, garage doors, wire shelving, bath hardware, and framing. We also offer contractor incentive trips and personal one-on-one service to contractors through our qualified outside and inside sales staff.

 Harbin Lumber Company, Inc. has developed a safety program that is based on the premise that each and every one of our employees are entitled to a safe and healthy working environment. Our Safety Program is designed for the protection of our employees and visitors. Management, supervisors, and all employees are directed to make safety and loss control a priority importance to all other Harbin Lumber Company activities.
We believe that every employee is concerned for their own safety and that of their co-workers and will recognize that the rules and policies are for their protection. The goals that we have set for our Safety Program can only be achieved through a cooperative effort between all employees, beginning with management. Our objective is to operate our safety program within the upper 25th percentile of our industry. Our program is based on accountability, discipline, and rewards. We firmly believe that each individual, from the top down, must be held accountable for their actions. This requires discipline at all levels. When our objectives are achieved, we believe that must be rewarded to all employees.
Our Safety Program has been recognized by numerous companies in our industry. It is also used by Loss and Risk Control with various insurance presentations to companies all across the nation. In 2000 all of our branches received the Georgia Department of Labor's Excellence in Safety Award and Achievement in Safety Award. We believe our #1 priority is safety for our employees and all others who visit our facilities. We are proud of our safety program and the successes we have achieved!
