Load Star Strives for Greater Efficiency with New Combilift

With truss business continuing to grow, Load Star needed a better way to manage the extra truss volume once the builds were done, and also needed to lay out the yard for better efficiency.  As a result, Load Star received a new Combilift multi-directional forklift, which combines the features of a counterbalanced forklift, side loader and very narrow aisle (VNA) truck in one vehicle. With the addition of this new machine, Load Star can increase the outdoor storage capacity.  The Combilift allows for easier movement of trusses, especially the long and unwieldy ones, which simplifies the maneuvering to job staging areas in the yard.  Fewer maneuvers to get the trusses where they need to go means improved safety and efficiency, resulting in more efficient shipment loading and better service. Check out the video showing the maneuvers the Combilift is capable of while carrying a load of trusses.              ...

Load Star Aims to Increase Production With New Saw

Load Star, Harbin Lumber’s truss manufacturing division, is continuing to grow and expand.  As a result, we needed to increase our saw capacity in order to continue to provide quality service.  We built a new structure to house all of the saw operations, including our newest piece of equipment, the Monet Desawyer 2000.  Delivery is complete and installation of the new Monet Desawyer 2000 began this week.  The saw will be ready for full production in the next couple weeks.  When fully operational, the saw will have a capacity of up to 40,000 board feet per day.      ...
