YellaWood Hosts Harbin Hunters

Yellawood quail hunt

Customers and employees from Harbin’s Lavonia, Eatonton and Athens locations were recently treated to a quail hunting experience, compliments of Great Southern Wood Preserving, a.k.a. YellaWood.

The prospective hunters began their trip with a tour of the Great Southern Headquarters in Abbeville, Alabama.  They learned the process that goes into transforming a raw pine board into a piece of building material that can withstand the elements over time. Following that, the groups attended a sport clay shoot, where they worked on their shooting skills.

After some delicious meals and some tall tales, the men headed out on the quail hunt, accompanied by some of the finest hunting assistants on four legs. The bird dogs and men canvassed the pines and fields looking for coveys of quail to flush. At the end of the hunt, participants were given their bounty – cleaned and frozen birds to take home for their families.   Our thanks to Great Southern for providing this great experience for our customers and team.
