STAR Employee of the Month – June 2025: Chris Owens
STAR Employee of the Month: Chris Owens — The Definition of “All In”

At Harbin Lumber, we pride ourselves on our people — the hard-working individuals who show up each day ready to put in the work and support one another. For the month of June, we’re proud to shine the spotlight on a team member who truly embodies the spirit of being “All In” — Chris Owens.

Chris started his journey with Harbin right after an eight-year run at Blue Beacon, a truck wash in Carnesville. Thanks to a connection with Gregg Moore Jr., he stepped into a role where he’s done a little bit of everything — from working in the warehouse and yard to driving box trucks and filling in wherever he’s needed. And that’s exactly what makes Chris stand out: his versatility, his dependability, and most of all, his unwavering willingness to help.

Whether he’s pulling orders, hopping on a forklift, or jumping into a truck to deliver, Chris is the kind of person who shows up ready to work — not just for himself, but for his team. He’s self-motivated, driven, and always steps in without hesitation. Ask anyone in the yard, and they’ll tell you Chris is the guy you can count on — the one who will always lend a helping hand and never complains, even when the day runs long.

“Chris remains an indispensable member of our team. His consistently positive attitude and willingness to assist are evident in all aspects of his work. Whether operating a forklift or driving trucks, he consistently delivers high-quality results and meets our expectations. Chris’s dedication and reliability make him an invaluable asset to our organization.” – Todd Irvin, Lavonia Lumberyard General Manager

Chris is quick to credit the “yard guys” — the coworkers who make the hard work a little lighter with good jokes and strong teamwork. He appreciates being part of a crew that knows how to work hard without taking everything too seriously. For him, it’s all about showing up, giving your best, and doing it with a sense of gratitude and humor.

Chris shared one simple yet powerful piece of wisdom: “Life’s too short to complain.” That mindset — steady, humble, and focused — is exactly why he’s being recognized this month.

Chris, thank you for being the kind of employee that leads by example. Your dedication, team spirit, and “all in” attitude don’t go unnoticed — and we’re lucky to have you on our team.
