Patrelle Pattman
April STAR Employee
Here at Harbin Lumber, we value a set of STAR principles among the company: S=Smile; T=Teach & Learn; A=”All in”; R=Royal Law. The Royal Law reads as follows:
“At the core of our STAR program is the Royal Law. As James 2:8 states, ‘Love your neighbor as yourself’—treat others as we would want to be treated – with respect, dignity, encouragement, and love.”
This month we would like to recognize a true STAR employee holding all these characteristics, Patrelle Pattman.
Patrelle began working for Harbin at a young age right after he graduated from high school. He was able to work alongside his cousin, Zach Barnes who is the Warehouse and Yard supervisor for the Athens Lumber Yard. Shortly after, Patrelle proceeded to play semi-pro football for the ATL Tigers as a Linebacker! Before returning to Harbin part time in 2017, Patrelle worked on building engines for four years with ABB Reliance. Joining the Harbin Lumber team full time in 2019, Patrelle continued playing Semi-pro football up until last year.
At the Athens Lumber Yard, Patrelle holds a valuable position being an asset to the warehouse and yard crew. When asked what he like most about his job did, Patrelle replied without hesitation saying, “I love being in this industry! I get along with everyone here! I will do everything I can to help in any way possible and I truly love what I do here.” Patrelle’s positive attitude of being “ All In” is something that will always be recognize and valued.
Patrelle was nominated this month by the General Manager of the Athens Lumber Yard, Todd Lord. Todd says, “Patrelle always has a good attitude and a big smile on his face and an infectious laugh that makes him fun to be around. He is always eager to help when it comes time to ask for a volunteer to do something outside of the normal scope of work that he does. A while back, Patrelle volunteered to get his medical card so that he would be able to drive our non-cdl trucks whenever needed and that versatility makes him very valuable.”
Beyond work, Patrelle’s STAR qualities shine. He enjoys anything to do with the outdoors whether it is playing football, going fishing or camping. He is very outgoing and is always up to trying something fun or new! Patrelle is also a family man having two kids of his own that are 9 and 2 years old. Any time spent with his family is a good day!
Patrelle’s infectious smile, willingness to learn or teach others, being “All In” all the time, and by treating other with respect is truly what being a STAR employee is all about!
Thank you Patrelle for always doing your best and being a positive influence! We are so thankful to have you on our team and look forward to many years of your future success here at Harbin Lumber!
