During the month of September, across the nation will be celebrating National Truck Driver appreciation week, September 11th-17th. We recognize at Harbin Lumber Company that our team of expert drivers are essential to our daily operations! They are the eyes of the company on the road that safely deliver products to our loyal customers and are key to helping build dreams.

At this time we would like to announce John Martin, Driver for Reload Center as the 2022 September STAR Employee.

John has been driving for 36 years with his CDL license, completing several million miles on his tenure. He joined the Harbin Lumber team around 4 years ago, originally driving for Load Star doing truss deliveries and eventually switched to delivering for Reload for materials. John enjoys his time on the road and being able to work alone, connecting this to his time served in the military. He was in the Marine Corps for 4 years in active duty where je also worked alone on his jobs. Before his time driving with Harbin, he drove for Adams Motor Express and Waste Management as well.

With his retirement coming up on December 15th, John said, “Harbin has always been good to me, they are food people to work for and get along with.”

“John is always willing to literally go the extra mile to get the job done or the material delivered. He also cares about everyone he comes across, often taking time to converse with the new faces he sees in our truss plant and pro yards. He is a pleasure to work with and will miss him when he finally tries to retire at the end of the year.”

Ryan RoperReload Operations Manager

John got married to his beautiful wife, Joan, in 2014. They initially met at a bike rally and now they enjoy attending these together and going camping. They also have two german shepherds, (Sky & Scarlett) and one cat. John is looking forward to his retirement and spending more time with his family going on vacations!

John, thank you for the many miles you have driven for Harbin! We appreciate all your hard work over the last few years. Even though we are sad to see you retire, we hope you enjoy this time with your family and take a well earned vacation! Just know that at Harbin Lumber company you will always be a part of the family.
