Sandy Lea

In the month of March, you always hear about “luck” with St. Patrick’s day just around the corner, and at Harbin Lumber Company we are LUCKY to have amazing employees who always go above and beyond. When thinking of the STAR Employee for March, we couldn’t be luckier to have Sandy Lea on our team!

Sandy works at the Eatonton Lumber Yard, where she is currently working in receiving. Her favorite part of her job she says is, “The people, vendors, our Harbin Family and most importantly our customers!” Her original position when she first started at Harbin was working as an inside sales specialist, counter sales and occasionally covering outside sales as backup. Overall, you can say she is a woman that wears many hats and is able to cover any role needed. That is just one of the many things that we adore about her.

Before working for Harbin, Sandy worked as a teacher’s assistant at Putnam County Primary school while her boys attended. However, before this she has always worked in the building business in some form, so she was truly knowledgeable of this industry coming into working for Harbin and we are thankful to have her on our team.

Jody Page, the General Manager of the Eatonton Lumber Yard, spoke highly about her saying, “I have known Sandy for many years. We used to work together with Choo Choo a long time ago. I had the opportunity to hire her here at Harbin 4 years ago and never hesitated. She is a very dedicated employee and willing to do anything that is asked of her and has a vast knowledge of our industry by working very well with customers. She accepted the receiving position at the end of the year when Debbie Powell retired, while already cross training in that position filing in when Debbie was on vacation. But I have to say that her largest characteristic is her overwhelming heart and love that she has for everyone! She has the largest heart that I know of anyone. So glad to have her here with our Harbin Family!”

In June, Sandy will be married of 34 years to her sweetheart, Dean. They have two sons, Dustin and Clinton, a daughter of their own heart, Abbie, one Fur child (Dolly) and two Boxer grandpups (Zee and Belle). With family being the most important thing, Sandy loves spending time with them. She also loves going to the beach, watching true crime TV, and Reading a good book!

Sandy, thank you for always going above and beyond. You truly have a heart of gold and are appreciated here at Harbin Lumber company. We look forward to many years ahead of your future success!
