The Paynes are the epitome of the American dream. They married young and began their family, while living in a mobile home and building their own business. Many years of dedication, countless hours of hard work, and quite a few blessings later, their business was taking off and they were planning for the future. The couple purchased some wooded property off the beaten path, with plans to eventually build their forever home some day. More years of hard work and saving, and the family was ready to begin their dream home. The family approached choosing their builder with the same careful consideration as they approached everything else up until now. After many recommendations and interviews, they chose Mark Palmer Construction.
Mark Palmer was the perfect fit to help the Paynes make their dream a reality. Mark meticulously managed every aspect of the home build, personally hand crafting many of the elements in the home, and leaving no detail unattended to. He worked closely with the Paynes every step of the way to ensure they received the dream home they had always wanted.
While the Paynes wanted a log cabin feel to their home, they had heard horror stories about using the typical log siding. Mark was able to give them that same look and feel while using cedar and other materials that would hold up to the elements and remain low maintenance.
The exterior of the home is beautifully landscaped, with a resort worthy pool, a separate man-cave barn and even a tree house. A porch surrounds most of the house, and walking along it affords views of the beautiful woods that inspired the home design, and a rock bed creek that winds around the exterior.
Stepping inside the home brings an immediate feeling of comfort and relaxation. All natural materials are abundant in the mountain-retreat-meets-farmhouse-style home.
Rich wood warms the floors, ceiling, walls and cabinets in a mix of complimentary finishes. Mark used a combination of new and reclaimed materials to create custom features that give the home an abundance of charm and character.
The two story home with full basement has plenty of room for the Paynes’ young and teenage children, and is the perfect setting for the family gatherings they love to host.
Details like barn doors, metal accents, custom tile work, and exposed beams keep the eyes exploring every room, finding something new and unnoticed on every trip around the house.
The family has lived in the home for two years and is loving every minute of living in their dream home.
Together, Palmer and the Paynes created the perfect retreat-worthy home that makes coming home every day feel like a vacation.
Thanks for including Harbin Lumber in this beautiful home build project. We wish the Paynes a forever full of happiness in their dream come true.
