The Harbin Family Foundation and HLC locations strives to support individuals in our communities in all aspect. At the core of our STAR program is the Royal Law. As James 2:8 states, ‘Love your neighbor as yourself’ – with respect, dignity, encouragement and love.
Recently, Harbin Lumber was informed of a veteran who retired to the North Georgia mountains after proudly serving our country in the Army for nearly 18 years. Over the years, his living conditions became unsafe. After learning this, Tallulah Falls Chief of Police Tonya Elrod, wanted to do anything she could to help. She reached out to many of her associates and personal contacts and the project began.

Eventually the word reached Todd Irvin, General Manager of Harbin Lumber Lavonia.  He jumped right on the task to assist with the donation and delivery of building materials. These materials include roofing and plywood for the floors.

When delivery day came, our crew was ‘all hands on deck’ unloading all materials to aid in the home reconstruction.

This project was something special for Harbin Lumber. We believe it is now time to help this veteran, who fearlessly served our country and fought for every one of us to enjoy the freedoms we are afforded. To stay up to date on the project and to see how you can donate, check out the gofundme page below.

Anything for this veteran is helpful, remembering that “helping one person might not change the world, but it could change the world for one person.”
