Harbin Lumber has many different retail locations throughout Georgia & South Carolina. Along with the retail locations, there is a Truss Facility for building trusses and Engineered Wood Products. But how does Harbin Lumber and Load Star receive all the correct materials in a timely fashion? That is the responsibility of the Harbin Lumber Reload Division. The Reload Facility is located in Royston, GA, not too far from our Lavonia store and truss production facility. The facility receives railroad cars full of supplies used to restock the lumber yards more quickly and efficiently. There are great employees that run that operation, one of them being Parker Burleigh, who is this month’s STAR Employee Spotlight.
Parker’s previous experience was in tech support with a book distribution warehouse before coming to HLC. When he transitioned to Harbin Lumber’s Reload Division, he worked throughout the yard loading trucks and ensuring the lot stayed organized. Now, Parker holds the title of Yard Supervisor with Reload. This role focuses on the shipping and receiving of materials from our distributors to our retail locations. He also assists in the management of yard operations and personnel.
Parker has worked for Reload for 3 years now and General Manager, Ryan Roper, has seen great growth within his role. Parker noted that he has always liked working on the yard but with the supervisory position he holds now, he has some freedom and can accomplish things at his own pace with the clerical tasks but still has the chance to enjoy being outside on the yard.
Aside from his job, Parker spends time with his dogs, cats, and his wife as well as playing video games.
Parker has been a great addition to the Reload Division team in many aspects. We look forward to watching you continue to succeed throughout your time with Harbin Lumber!
