At Harbin Lumber Company, we believe in recognizing and appreciating the hard work and dedication of our employees. This month, we are proud to honor Andrew Cain as our STAR Employee of the Month. Andrew has been an invaluable member of our Load Star team for the past 3 and a half years, serving as the Maintenance Supervisor at Load Star.
Andrew’s journey with Harbin Lumber Company began when he decided to make a career change. With 13 years of experience in the HVAC industry and 2 years in a factory position, Andrew was ready for a new challenge. Seeking day shifts instead of nights, he was referred to us by his uncle and long-time employee, Stephen Cain.
Since joining the Load Star team, Andrew has shown remarkable versatility and adaptability. He has worked in various positions, gaining a wealth of knowledge and becoming well-versed in all aspects of our operations. From stacking and working on the production floors to running machines and even covering the production office, Andrew has proven himself to be a valuable asset.
As the Maintenance Supervisor, Andrew’s responsibilities include overseeing new projects, fixing broken machines, and ensuring smooth operations. His dedication to his job and his ability to handle different tasks with ease have made him an indispensable member of our team.
When asked about his job, Andrew expressed his love for the people he works with and the variety of tasks he gets to tackle every day. He thrives on the challenges his job presents and appreciates the supportive and family environment at Harbin Lumber Company. Being a privately family-owned company, Andrew feels valued and treated as part of a family rather than just a number.
Mike Miller, the Production Manager, speaks highly of Andrew’s work ethic and attitude. “Andrew started about 3 1/2 years ago, and he has already worked his way up the ladder to the position of Maintenance Supervisor. He immediately made a strong impact with his hard work, great initiative, and great attitude. Even now as a Supervisor in maintenance, he still leaves work everyday dirty as a person could possibly get from working on machines, laying on the floor working, greasing, working on hydraulic hoses, etc.. Andrew works as hard as anyone that I have ever had working for me (30 years). Plus, he has a great attitude and gets along well with everyone he comes in contact with.”
Outside of work, Andrew cherishes his time with his family. He has been happily married to his wife Katlyn for 10 years, and together they have three beautiful children – Karter, Brooks, and Hazel. In his free time, Andrew enjoys hunting and archery, pursuing his passions with the same dedication he brings to his work.
