Over the course of the last few weeks, several Harbin Lumber employees had the chance to earn and complete CPR and First Aid certifications. The classes consisted of employees from each branch of Harbin Lumber locations. Safety Director, Shelly Coles, organized the classes with Help Inc, a local certification company founded by Ernie Dewitt.

The class consisted of obtaining knowledge to be prepared for situations that may arise in the work place. This workshop gave each employee the confidence to safely aid others if confronted with an injury or life threatening scenario. The employees who participated were able to practice CPR and safely and correctly use an AED machine when needed.

Thanks to Shelly, each location is now equipped with new heavy duty First Aid kits along with state of the art AED machines. These will be strategically placed at Harbin Lumber locations in the event that an employee may need to utilize them. Having the knowledge to help someone in different situations is extremely vital in creating the safest workplace possible.

Thank you to Shelly, Harbin Lumber Safety Director, and Ernie Dewitt with Help Inc. for allowing Harbin Lumber employees to receive this training! Each Harbin Lumber location can now carry out safety procedures confidently!
